Digital Library), The Carriage House, Mathematical Association of
America, Washington, DC in 2008 & 2009
Principal Investigator, Mathematical
Methods for Biology & Medicine (NSF DUE #0535924). The
work includes
developing a new course, Mathematical
Methods for Biology &
Medicine. The grant also extends materials and offerings
for the
existing Calculus for Biology &
Medicine course that JCCC currently
offers.
Involved as an editor and trainer with an NSF grant to
revive the
CODEE resources and provide a related
infrastructure to support contemporary differential equations
instruction. This grant, with principal investigators at Harvey
Mudd College, is entitled Online
Resources to Improve the Teaching
and Learning of Differential Equations: Encouraging the
Widespread Use of Modeling and Computing (NSF DUE
#0717490).
Developing web tools and modules for mathematical biology
topics,
particularly as they relate to biology, biotechnology, chemistry,
physiology, &
medicine. The idea that has emerged is a modular learning
community hosted/facilitated through technology. Integrating the
use of the WeBWorK homework system in my mathematics courses.
