Engineering Physics II, PHYS 221

Welcome to the world of physics! Hopefully, by the end of this class you'll not just learn how to solve word problems, but you'll also see how physics is a part of our everyday lives. What you learn in this class you'll be able to use in just about every aspect of daily life. We live in a technological society, and the need to be science literate will be increasingly more important. In the first semester of physics you should have learned about the basic mechanics of motion: force, acceleration, momentum, energy, ...yada, yada, yada. Now, we're going to use those ideas to describe things a little more abstract than billiard balls and crates. In this course, we will study how electrical circuits work and why they work, how to figure out what type of eyeglasses you need, even what prescription, and we'll look at how light is produced and nuclear radioactivity. Lots of stuff, I think that you'll see that a LOT of it is very practical and usable by just about everyone!

I know this page is sparse now. I'll have more materials available in time.
